The Kansas City Chiefs signed free agent fullback Tim Castille, the team announced today.
Castille takes over the roster spot created with wide receiver Dwayne Bowe suspended for four games for violating the NFL's policy regarding banned performance-enhancing substances.
It's rumored that Bowe took a diuretic to try to cut weight.
Castille played in 14 regular season games with the Arizona Cardinals a year ago, catching four passes for 11 yards and recording 10 special teams tackles for the Cardinals. He also added one catch and a special teams tackle in two postseason games in 2008.
He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Arizona in 2007, and was on the club’s 53-man roster for all 16 games.
The University of Alabama product played in 43 games for the Crimson Tide, rushing 155 times for 524 yards with 20 TDs and catching 59 passes for 363 yards.
Castille’s father, Jeremiah Castille, played in the NFL as a defensive back with Tampa Bay and Denver.
